Providing a reliable, professional and friendly service since 1985.
Upon leaving school, I started work for the Bishop’s Stortford nurseries ‘Goodlife’ which was sadly our last established Bishops Stortford Nursery. Whilst there I financed myself to attend a block day release course at Capel Institute of Horticulture to study Arboriculture.
When the nursery site was eventually sold to Homebase, it opened up an amazing opportunity for me to work at the oldest and most famous nurseries Thomas Rivers and Son which was founded in 1725, from whom I learned a great deal from the Academy of Horticulture in the Excellence and Art of Gardening.
Wanting to further my Arboriculture experience, I progressed to work for one of the leading tree surgeons based in Romford where I stayed for a further 5 years, learning the practical side of tree surgery. Here I was fortunate enough to carry out work for the late 1966 world cup winning captain Sir Bobby Moore and the prestigious London Zoo; I still remember clearly coming face to face with a pack of wolves that decided to chew the log rather than myself.
The draw though to set up my own business was too strong and in 1985 I established PJF Landscapes and Tree Services where I have successfully built a loyal and varied client base, some of which have been with me for over 30 years.
I have been lucky enough to be involved in their gardens development and growth, watching them evolve into the breath taking gardens of today.
